Can I watch YouTube videos on my PSP® portable entertainment system?
At this time, if you wish to visit various websites that contain Flash® videos (e.g., YouTube, etc.), you will not be able to view them on the PSP system.
Currently, the PSP system supports Macromedia® Flash Player 6; however, some features are not supported. Therefore, if the website requires a higher version of Flash to be installed, the PSP system will not be able to play those videos.
The Flash® Player available on the PSP system can only be upgraded if Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) releases a PSP system software with a specific Flash update included. The Flash Player was bundled in PSP system software update 2.70. If you do not already have this PSP system software installed, you can download the most recent version by clicking here, which will include all previous updates.
If your PSP system already has the Flash plug-in installed, and the website you are attempting to view (e.g., YouTube) recommends an upgrade to the Flash or Java plug-in, please note you will not be able to update the Internet browser on the PSP system to display the Flash or Java content. The only way to update the Flash or Java plug-in on the PSP system is through a future system software released by SCEA.
